Our Lady of Mount Carmel Mission in Boston is in need of a permanent home where Jesus can be more fittingly honored.
The goal is to buy a church property where the faithful can go aside from the bustle of the world and visit our Lord in peace. Currently the Latin Mass is offered two Sundays a month at a leased room on a business premises.

You can help our parish at no cost to you:

What if Our Lady of Mount Carmel Mission Inc (East Boston) earned a donation every time you searched the Internet?  Or, how about if a percentage of every purchase you made online went to support our cause? Well, now it can!

Our budding parish has signed up for GoodSearch.com, which is a new Yahoo-powered search engine that donates half of its advertising revenue (about a penny per search) to the charities its users designate. Use it just as you would any search engine, getting quality search results from Yahoo and watch the donations add up!

Better still, GoodShop.com is a new online shopping mall which donates up to 30 percent of each purchase to your favorite cause....hopefully ours! Hundreds of great stores, including Amazon, Target, Gap, Best Buy, eBay, Macy's and Barnes & Noble, have teamed up with GoodShop, and each time you place an order, you will be supporting your favorite cause.

Here are some ways you can help:

1)  Download the GoodSearch toolbar for Our Lady of Mount Carmel Mission for the Internet Explorer and Firefox web browsers. The toolbar has a convenient search box which gets our parish a penny each time you use it. You may download the toolbar here:

http://www.goodsearch.com/toolbar/our-lady-of-mount-carmel-mission-inc

If you download the "GoodSearch – Our Lady of Mount Carmel Mission Inc" (East Boston) toolbar, our cause will earn money every time you shop and search online - even if you forget to go to GoodShop or GoodSearch first! Very easy installation and ever after you don't have to think about donating....after that, it just happens when you shop participating sites!

You may click on the "Amount Raised" button on the GoodSearch homepage to see how much we have raised so far.

[Do not use it to search for websites whose address you already know just to get us a penny. The system can detect abusive and dishonest activity. Repeated or fraudulent searches will get us barred from GoodSearch.]

2)  If you do not wish to use the toolbar, you can use GoodSearch another way. Just save the following link as a favorite. It will bring you to the GoodSearch homepage with our Mission selected as the charity of your choice. You can then use it as a search engine. You can change this in your browser "Properties" in your home page information.

Every time you search from this link, our parish gets a penny. Please note, this is not as helpful or convenient as the toolbar mentioned above.

3)  Send this email to your friends, co-workers, etc. Use GoodSearch at work. A penny per search is not much, but if we can get a few thousand people using it, it will add up. It just makes cents.

4)  If you wish to donate directly, you may contact us by email, snail-mail, or phone. Donations are tax-deductible.  (PayPal should be available in the near future.)

5)  Most importantly: Pray!! We are only God's instruments and can do nothing of ourselves. As King David said in Psalm 126: "Unless the Lord build the house, they labor in vain who build it."

Thank you for the time you have taken to help our parish. May God reward you abundantly.

Today's Quotation

There is no experience so bitter for the generous and high-minded as that of being misunderstood. There is nothing which is so wounding to the sensitive heart as having the purest, noblest, most unselfish efforts towards good, not only not appreciated, but even misjudged and regarded with suspicion by those in whose interests these efforts have been expended. This is the experience which invariably falls to the lot of God in His dealings with souls. God is the Great Misunderstood.

- Father Edward Leen, C.S.SP. (1885-1944)
